Am I allowed to bet on both sides of the same event?

TL;DR

No, it's forbidden. If you bet on "Real Madrid wins" and "Real Madrid loses" at the same time, you're playing against yourself. The system automatically blocks you on the second attempt. It's an anti-scam protection that also protects you - you could end up with a guaranteed loss because of the commission.

The rule, explained simply

You can't bet on both outcomes of the same event. If you already have an active bet on "Real Madrid wins" and you try to place one on "Barcelona wins" (the same match), the app blocks you with a clear message: "You already have an active bet on this event."

The rule also applies:

  • To matched and unmatched bets.
  • To you across all your devices (one account = one bet per event).
  • Whatever the size of your two stakes (even if you stake 100K on one side and 1,000 on the other).

There's one harmless exception: you can switch sides before matching by canceling your first bet and placing the new one. But once matched, it's locked.

Why it's forbidden

Three reasons.

1. It's playing against yourself. If you stake 10K on "Real Madrid wins" and 10K on "Barcelona wins", whatever the outcome, you win one stake and lose the other. And in between, you pay our commission. So you end up with a guaranteed loss of about 500 KTK to 1,000 KTK depending on your stake tier. You're losing money on purpose.

2. It pollutes the pool. If you double-bet, you pollute the cascade - two bets to match instead of one, meaning two people "busy" betting against you for nothing. That's bad for the platform's liquidity and for other bettors waiting for a match.

3. Anti-scam. This rule prevents certain scams we've seen on other P2P platforms - for example, two linked accounts "matching" with each other to transfer money illegally. Our KYC + this rule make that kind of manipulation very difficult.

What you can do instead

If you're torn between two sides, make your decision before betting. Prediction Mode is free for practicing your picks. Discover Prediction Mode.

If you want to change your mind before matching, cancel your bet and place the new one. You get a 100% refund. Cancel before matching.

If you want to diversify, bet on several different events. That's true diversification: 10 bets on 10 different matches spreads your risk. Not 2 contradictory bets on the same match.

The special case of private leagues

In a private league with friends, the rule stays the same. No double bets on the same event, even within a small group. The private league changes the matching pool (you're only matched with friends), but it doesn't change individual betting rules.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

No. Our KYC verifies identity (one unique ID card) and creating a second account with the same identity automatically closes both of your accounts.

That's perfectly fine - it's even expected. You're betting against them (or against any other person) - that's the whole point. You can also get matched against them without knowing it if the algorithm decides so.

If the event has only 2 clearly defined sides (A wins / B wins), there's no possible variation. If some events have sub-markets (exact score, first scorer…), those are treated as separate events you can bet on independently.
