The technical rule: no hard limit
On Ktkarena, there is no limit on the number of bets in progress at the same time. If you want to bet on 50 Champions League matches at once, you can. If you want to mix sports, politics, crypto and culture on the same evening, you can.
It's not a "limit" that changes with your tier or your history. It's simply the escrow mechanism that naturally constrains you.
Note: since the system redesign, the POOLED status (a bet absorbed by the pool phase at the end of an event) also counts as a bet in progress until the event is resolved.
The real constraint: your available balance
Here's what happens when you bet:
- You have 100,000 KTK on your balance.
- You bet 20,000 KTK on the Real Madrid vs Barça match.
- The 20,000 KTK immediately leaves your available balance and goes into escrow (the secure vault).
- Your available balance now shows 80,000 KTK.
- You bet 30,000 KTK on the French presidential election.
- Your 30,000 KTK goes into escrow. Your available balance shows 50,000 KTK.
- You can keep staking until your available balance runs out.
If you try to bet 60,000 KTK when you only have 50,000 KTK available, the app refuses the bet with a clear message: "Insufficient balance. Available: 50,000 KTK."
The 80% prudence rule
Technically, you can put 100% of your balance in escrow. But we strongly advise against it. Here's why:
1. You have no room to maneuver. If an interesting betting opportunity comes up and all your money is locked, you miss out. Without flexibility, you lose strategically.
2. If you want to cancel, you pay a penalty. Canceling a matched bet costs you 10 to 20% depending on the timing. If everything is in escrow and a financial emergency comes up, you'll have to pay to get your money back.
3. It's psychologically risky. Having your entire budget at stake at the same time amplifies emotion. You make worse decisions on your next bets.
Our recommendation. Don't put more than 80% of your balance into simultaneous bets. Always keep a reserve.
Practical case: a 100K KTK budget
Imagine you have a weekly betting budget of 100,000 KTK. Here's how we recommend using it:
- 5 to 8 simultaneous bets maximum, with stakes of 5,000 to 15,000 KTK each.
- Always keep 20,000 KTK in reserve (your "available" balance should always show at least 20K).
- Diversify tiers: 2-3 bets on the Standard tier (10-50K), 3-5 bets on the Discovery tier (1-10K), to avoid putting everything into a single tier exposed to the same risk.
- Diversify themes: not everything on soccer, not everything on crypto.
This strategy isn't a guarantee of winning - it's just healthy bankroll management, the way the pros do it. Set up automatic limits so you don't exceed your budget.
