Profile 1 - The beginner who wants to learn
You've just discovered Ktkarena. The P2P betting concept is new to you. You want to understand how it works before risking real money.
Prediction Mode is your ideal training ground:
- You get familiar with the interface, the topics, the rhythm of events.
- You learn to evaluate your own intuitions (do you predict well? badly?).
- You see what it feels like to win and to lose, but without the financial pressure.
- When you feel ready, you move to the Arena with a clear mind.
Typical length of this phase: 1 to 3 months for most. Some stay longer, others move to the Arena within a few days.
Profiles 2-3 - The minor and the self-excluded user (legal cases)
The minor (under 18): gambling is prohibited for minors. However, Prediction Mode (no money involved) is legal and accessible. If you're under 18, you can't create a Ktkarena account (our KYC verifies age), but once you're of age, you can sign up and use everything, including Prediction Mode.
Important note: an account can't be created by a minor. KYC blocks that possibility. So we can't really "serve" minors on the platform. But theoretically, if we built a fully sign-up-free mode (under exploration), prediction would be the only legal mode.
The self-excluded user: if you've activated a temporary self-exclusion from the Arena (1 week, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year), you can no longer bet with money during that period. But Prediction Mode stays accessible. You can keep using the platform, follow events, predict, earn badges, without touching the Arena. It's an excellent way to stay connected to the community during a break. More on self-exclusion.
Profiles 4-5 - The enthusiast and the tester
The gamification enthusiast: you love point-based games, leaderboards, challenges. You don't particularly want to make money - you want to collect, progress, be recognized. Prediction Mode is designed for you: seasonal tournaments, rare badges, themed leaderboards. You can spend hours on it and always have new challenges.
The intuition tester: you have a theory about a domain (for example, "second-half matches are more predictable than early ones"). You want to test that theory on 100 matches before putting it into practice financially. Prediction Mode lets you experiment at scale, for free, and measure your success rate precisely.
Concrete example: an economist bettor spent 6 months in Prediction Mode predicting the price of Bitcoin using his method. When he saw he had a 68% success rate (vs ~50% for chance), he moved to the Arena with confidence. He now has a very profitable Premium account.
Profile 6 - The expert who wants recognition
You're an expert in a domain (sports, politics, crypto). Your predictions are regularly correct. You want to demonstrate it publicly, in an environment where your skill is valued.
Prediction Mode gives you that showcase:
- Your Oracle leaderboard position is public - anyone can see where you stand.
- Your badges attest to your expertise by domain.
- Seasonal tournaments let you face the best.
- Your profile displays your predictor reputation.
Many experts use Prediction Mode as a public portfolio to demonstrate their value - useful for professional consulting, media appearances, or simply for pride.
Note: we have a few regular predictors who have become small celebrities on the platform thanks to their repeatedly correct predictions. No financial reward, but real community recognition.
