What the two modes share
The event catalog: nearly all Arena events are also available in Prediction. A Real Madrid vs Barça match is open in both modes. You choose how you want to take part.
Resolution: an event is resolved only once, for both modes. The final whistle gives the result, and we apply it simultaneously to Arena bets and predictions.
The interface: the bet screen and the prediction screen deliberately look alike. We want you to be able to switch from one to the other without relearning anything.
The user profile: your account is unique. Whether you bet or predict, it's under the same handle (@Marie_237). Your Arena and Prediction stats are shown separately on your profile.
Notifications: you receive resolution notifications for your bets and your predictions the same way.
KPIs: your account has two separate sets of stats
When you go to your profile, you see two distinct stat blocks:
Arena stats:
- Number of resolved bets (with amounts).
- Arena success rate.
- Total winnings and losses.
- Current KTK balance.
- Total commission paid.
Prediction stats:
- Number of resolved predictions.
- Prediction success rate.
- Total Oracle Score.
- Badges unlocked.
- Current Oracle leaderboard position.
You can be excellent at prediction and a beginner in the Arena, or the other way around. The two skills are related (knowing how to predict helps you bet) but not identical (betting adds bankroll management, the emotion of risk, the timing of matching).
Strategies for using both
Strategy 1 - The cautious beginner. You're starting out on Ktkarena. You go 80% Prediction (free, to learn) and 20% Arena (with small Discovery stakes). When you see you're consistently good at prediction, you increase the Arena share.
Strategy 2 - The specialist. You're excellent at Cameroonian politics but hopeless at sports. You bet in the Arena only on Cameroonian politics (where you have an informational edge) and you predict in Prediction Mode for sports (just for fun, without risking money).
Strategy 3 - The idea tester. You have an intuition about a niche event (singing competition, regional election). You predict first to see if your intuition is validated. If you predict correctly on 3 similar events in a row, you start betting in the Arena on the 4th.
Strategy 4 - The community enthusiast. You love competition but don't want to put money in. You play 100% in Prediction, you join the seasonal tournaments, you collect badges, you aim for the top of the Oracle leaderboard. It's your main experience and that's perfectly OK.
