The simple definition
Prediction Mode is a feature that runs alongside the Arena (which is our core business - P2P betting with real money).
In Prediction Mode:
- You predict the outcome of an event (the same ones as in the Arena: sports, politics, crypto, culture, etc.).
- You stake no KTK. No money leaves your wallet.
- When the event resolves, you win or lose Oracle points (our virtual prediction currency).
- Your points contribute to your overall Oracle Score, your leaderboard position, and unlock badges.
It's the equivalent of the "fantasy" mode you find on some sports platforms: you play, you progress, but it's pure gamification - not a financial exchange.
What you win (and what you don't)
You win:
- Oracle points when you predict correctly.
- Badges when you complete challenges (10 correct predictions in a row, politics expert, etc.).
- Trophies when you finish high in seasonal tournaments.
- A spot on the public leaderboard of the best predictors.
- Pride and recognition in the community.
You don't win:
- KTK (the platform currency with monetary value).
- FCFA, dollars, or real money of any kind.
- Bonuses in the Arena: your Oracle points don't convert into stakes.
- Physical gifts (at least, not for now - we're considering it for the very big tournaments).
It's important to be clear: Prediction Mode is purely free and pure gamification. If you're looking for a way to "make money without staking", this isn't it. But it's an extraordinary training ground and an enjoyable experience in itself.
Why we built it
Three reasons.
1. To make Ktkarena accessible without money. Not everyone wants to or can afford to stake from day one. Prediction Mode lets you discover the platform, understand the mechanics, see if you're good at predicting, without spending a franc.
2. For users on a break. If you've activated a temporary self-exclusion from the Arena or you've decided not to bet this month, Prediction Mode stays accessible. You keep enjoying the community without the financial risk.
3. To open experimental markets. Some niche events (obscure foreign politics, contemporary art, mathematics) attract few bettors in the Arena. Prediction Mode lets us test these markets without needing liquidity - anyone can predict, and we see if there's interest.
How to access it in the app
Prediction Mode is accessible from sign-up, even without a verified KYC. It's one of the few places on the platform where KYC isn't required.
To access it:
- Open the Ktkarena app.
- In the main menu (target icon at the bottom), tap the Prediction tab (next to the Arena tab).
- You'll see the list of events open for prediction.
Many events exist in both modes: you can predict a match in Prediction Mode (free) and bet on the same match in the Arena (with money). The two aren't linked - you earn Oracle points on one side, KTK on the other.
