Inviting and managing members

The 3 invitation methods

Method 1 - By direct handle.

1. In the league, tap "Invite a member".
2. Type the person's Ktkarena handle (for example @Marie_237).
3. The app checks that they exist and sends the invitation.

The recipient gets a notification: "[You] invited you to the league [Name]. Accept / Decline."

Method 2 - By phone number.

1. Tap "Invite by number".
2. Enter the number with the country code.
3. If the person is registered on Ktkarena: invitation sent like method 1.
4. If they're not registered: we send them an SMS with a signup link + an automatic invitation to your league once registered.

Useful when you don't know your friends' Ktkarena handles (a phone number is more natural to share).

Method 3 - By share link.

1. Tap "Generate an invitation link".
2. A unique link is created (for example https://ktkarena.com/join/yaounde-foot-fans-x7d2).
3. Copy the link and share it via WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS, email, or any channel.
4. Anyone who clicks it is directed to the app and automatically joins the league (after signing up if not already registered).

The admin and co-admin system

Ktkarena uses a simple 2-level system:

Admin (creator or promoted):

• Invite and remove members.
• Change the name, the theme, the visibility settings.
• Promote a member to co-admin.
• Dissolve the league.
• Moderate the chat (delete inappropriate messages).

Member:

• See all the bets and stats of other members.
• Take part in the chat.
• Take part in challenges and leaderboards.
• Leave the league at any time.

Co-admin: a member promoted to admin by the main admin. Has all the admin's permissions except dissolving the league.

To promote someone:

1. Tap their name in the member list.
2. Tap "Promote to co-admin".
3. The person is notified and receives the new permissions.

How many co-admins: up to 5 per league. That's more than enough.

Removing or banning a member

If a member becomes toxic or inactive and you want to remove them:

1. Tap their name in the member list.
2. Tap "Remove from the league".
3. Confirm.

Immediate effects:

• The member is unsubscribed from the league.
• They receive a notification: "You've been removed from the league [Name]."
• Their historical bets remain visible to other members (for the transparency of past leaderboards).
• They can no longer see the chat or new bets.

Difference between "Remove" and "Ban":

• Remove: the person can be re-invited later if you change your mind.
• Ban: the person can never again be re-invited to this specific league, even if they insist. Used for cases of very toxic behavior.

To ban, choose "Ban permanently" instead of "Remove".

Managing pending invitations

When you send an invitation, it appears in "Pending invitations":

• You can cancel a sent invitation if you change your mind.
• An invitation is valid for 14 days. After that, it expires.
• You can resend an expired invitation.

The recipient sees all their pending invitations in Social → My invitations and can accept/decline whenever they want.
