The event chat (public arena)

TL;DR

Every active event has a public chat where all bettors/predictors can talk. Visible before, during and after the event. Automatically moderated against spam and insults. No DMs possible from the chat - only the public discussion about the event itself.

What the event chat is for

When you open an event on Ktkarena (a match, an election, a crypto event), you see at the bottom a public chat where all the bettors and predictors on that event can talk.

Typical use cases:

  • Before the event: share your analysis, discuss the odds, debate.
  • During the event: comment live, react to the action, cheer.
  • After the event: celebrate or console, analyze what happened.

It's the community soul of Ktkarena. An event with 1,000 bets often has a very lively chat during and after. An event with 5 bets has a quieter chat.

Important: the chat is public to all Ktkarena users, whether they've bet on the event or not. You can't filter "bettors only". The openness is intentional.

How to take part

  1. Open an event from the app (Arena or Prediction).
  2. Scroll down: you see the "Event chat" area.
  3. Type your message in the field and send. Your message appears immediately with:
    • Your handle.
    • Your profile photo.
    • The timestamp (for example, "2 minutes ago").
    • A "Has bet" badge if you've bet on this event in the arena (shows your real commitment).
    • A "Has predicted" badge if you've predicted in prediction mode.

Features:

  • You can like a message (heart at the bottom of the message).
  • You can reply to a specific message to create a thread.
  • You can mention a user with @handle. They receive a notification.
  • You can share an emotion via emojis (the app has a built-in emoji menu).

You can't:

  • Send images or videos (to prevent spam and inappropriate content).
  • Send external links (automatic URL moderation).
  • Run polls in the chat (not a feature, deliberately).

The rules of good behavior

What's encouraged:

  • Constructive analyses and factual arguments.
  • Encouragement and good vibes.
  • Sincere reactions (joy, disappointment, surprise).
  • Respectful debates between opposing opinions.

What's forbidden:

  • Personal insults. You can criticize an analysis, not the person.
  • Hate speech (racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.).
  • Targeted harassment of a user.
  • Spam (repeated messages, advertising, external links).
  • Market manipulation ("buy X now!" for bets/cryptos).
  • Disclosing the personal information of other users.

If you see a message that breaks the rules, you can report it (3 dots on the message → "Report"). Reporting or blocking a user.

Automatic and human moderation

Automatic moderation:

  • Anti-insult filter: certain words trigger automatic masking of the message ("Message hidden by moderation").
  • Anti-spam filter: if you send 10 identical messages in 1 minute, you're temporarily muted (15 minutes).
  • Anti-URL filter: external links are automatically hidden (for security).
  • Anti-duplicate filter: if your message is already in the chat verbatim, sending is blocked.

Human moderation:

  • A Ktkarena moderation team receives the reports and rules on them within 24 hours on average.
  • In cases of serious violations, sanctions range from a warning to a temporary mute (1 hour to 30 days) up to a permanent chat ban (rare, for serious repeat offenders).

If you're sanctioned, you receive a notification explaining the reason. You can appeal via support if you believe the sanction is unjustified.
