A word before we start
If you're reading this article, you may be asking yourself questions about your relationship with gambling. That's a healthy thing to do - many people never ask themselves that question.
Ktkarena sold you a betting product. That's our job. But our job is not to make you play more than you want to. When we designed this platform, we built self-exclusion in from day one, not as a legal add-on, but as a feature we respect.
Activating a self-exclusion is not a failure. It's the exact opposite: it's a decision made by you, for you, with a clear head, that protects you from heat-of-the-moment decisions.
Important. If you're in distress or think you may be developing an addiction, talk about it. You're not alone. Joueurs Info Service helpline (France): 09 74 75 13 13 (standard-rate call). In French-speaking Africa, you can write to us at support@ktkarena.com and we'll point you to the local structures available.
The 4 self-exclusion durations
Option 1 - 24 hours (short break)
You block yourself for 24 hours. During this period:
- No bets possible.
- No deposits possible.
- You can view your account, but not use it.
Typical use: you've had a bad day, you feel the frustration rising, and you want to sleep on it before making any decisions.
Option 2 - 7 days (medium break)
Same mechanics, over 7 days.
Typical use: you've bet more than planned this week and want to reset before continuing.
Option 3 - 30 days (long break)
Same mechanics, over 30 days.
Typical use: you notice betting is taking up too much space in your thoughts. You want a real break to evaluate your relationship with gambling.
Option 4 - Permanent (full exit)
You close your access to Ktkarena for good.
Typical use: you've identified that Ktkarena is no longer good for you, in the short or long term. You want to close the chapter for good.
How to activate self-exclusion
Procedure
In the app:
Account → Settings → Responsible Gaming → Self-exclusion
You'll see the 4 duration options. Tap the one you want.
3-step confirmation
To prevent accidental activations, Ktkarena asks for 3 successive confirmations:
- Initial confirmation: "Do you really want to self-exclude for [duration]?"
- Reading the consequences: a clear summary of what will be blocked during the period.
- Final confirmation: you type the word "CONFIRM" in capital letters in a text field.
From this last step, the self-exclusion is irrevocable for the chosen duration.
What happens next?
Immediately after your confirmation:
- Your access to betting is cut off.
- Your access to deposits is cut off.
- You receive a confirmation email with the exclusion end date (except for permanent).
- All your marketing notifications are automatically disabled.
- Your ongoing bets stay active and are resolved normally (the exclusion does not cancel them).
- Your remaining KTK balance can be recovered via a standard withdrawal.
Lifting the self-exclusion
For temporary durations (24h, 7d, 30d)
The self-exclusion is lifted automatically at the end of the duration. You receive a notification and can resume your activity.
There is also a mandatory 24-hour cooling-off period after the end of the exclusion, during which you receive a reminder of the available limits (maximum amount per bet, daily losses, etc.). We want you to come back fully aware, not on autopilot.
For permanent self-exclusion
This one is more delicate. You cannot lift it yourself from the app.
If you want to come back, you must:
- Wait at least 6 months after activation.
- Contact support@ktkarena.com.
- Explain your situation and your motivations.
- Go through a mandatory interview with a member of our team (by chat or phone).
- If the interview validates your request, the lifting takes effect after a further 30-day waiting period.
Good to know. Permanent self-exclusion is designed to be hard to lift. That's intentional. If you chose it, at some point you had a good reason. The waiting period and the interview are there to verify that you're coming back with a clear head, not on impulse.
What does NOT happen during self-exclusion
- No commercial email will be sent to you.
- No engagement push notifications.
- No promotional offers.
- No "We miss you" reminders.
During your exclusion, Ktkarena disappears from your life. That's the point.
If someone you know needs self-exclusion
You cannot activate self-exclusion on someone else's behalf. It's a strictly personal decision that must come from the person concerned.
What you can do:
- Talk with the person, without judgment.
- Point them to this article.
- Suggest they contact a helpline (numbers below).
- If the person is a minor or presents a serious risk and uses Ktkarena, contact us at legal@ktkarena.com with the information you have.
