Deletion is immediate and final: there is no period during which you can change your mind. If you want a copy of your data, download it first, in the app: Settings › Download my data.
From the app
- Open the Profile tab, then Settings.
- At the very bottom, tap Delete my account.
- The app checks what is still at stake (see What blocks deletion), then shows you the balance that will be forfeited (see Your KTK balance).
- Confirm it is really you: with a six-digit code sent to your account's email address, with your password if your account has one, or with your Google account if it is linked.
The account is deleted as soon as you confirm, and you are signed out on all your devices.
Without the app
If you no longer have access to the app, write to privacy@ktkarena.com from your account's email address, with your username and the subject “Account deletion”. We check that the request really comes from the account holder, then delete the account under the rules described on this page.
We reply within the time limit set by Article 8.8 of the Privacy Policy: thirty (30) days at most.
What blocks deletion
Deletion is refused as long as one of your stakes is still committed against someone else:
- a challenge part of which is already matched with an opponent, or has entered the Mutual Pool;
- a challenge on an event that no longer accepts stakes (closed, or in its pool phase);
- a Klash you posted that has already been taken up;
- a counter-proposal you made on a Klash that is still waiting for its author's answer. It frees itself if the author declines it, or when it expires.
The app shows you the list of what is blocking. Wait for those challenges to be resolved, then try again.
What does not block. Anything not yet committed is returned to you automatically, free of charge, just before deletion:
- your challenges still waiting for an opponent, on an event that is still open: the stake goes back to your balance;
- your posted Klashs that nobody has taken up: the amount goes back to your balance;
- challenges you sent to a friend that they have not accepted yet are cancelled. No stake is taken before acceptance.
Your balance never blocks deletion: it is forfeited (next section).
Your KTK balance
KTK has no monetary value: deposits and withdrawals are not open. On deletion, your remaining balance, including the stakes returned automatically, is brought to zero and forfeited. It is not refunded, converted or transferred to another account, and it cannot be recovered afterwards. The app shows you the exact amount before you confirm.
Erased right away
As soon as you confirm, in a single operation:
- your identity: email address, username, display name, bio, profile and cover photos, password, two-factor authentication and last sign-in IP address are erased, or replaced with an anonymous identifier;
- your access: sessions, Google or Apple sign-in, device fingerprints and notification tokens;
- your notifications, including scheduled ones;
- your connections: friends, friend challenges, league memberships and invitations;
- the messages and reactions you sent in the chat of your matched challenges;
- your preferences, your inventory and your shop purchases;
- photos attached to your posts: removed from the posts, then erased from our image storage when no other post uses them.
Your account's security logs are kept, but without IP address or browser and device description.
What is not erased. Your private messages, your league messages and your comments are not erased: they are kept, attached to the anonymised account (see What is kept). To remove a piece of content before you leave, delete it in the app where the app allows it.
Erased after 30 days
Thirty days after deletion, a daily purge erases what was still attached to the anonymised account: achievements, mission progress, experience points and level rewards, predictions, Mutual Pool participations and stake queue, leaderboard history, security and notification logs, league activity, and feature-trial assignments.
What is kept
The following is kept, attached to the anonymised account (without email address, username or photo):
- your private messages, your league messages and your comments: they are not erased and stay in place for the people you exchanged with, without your username, your name or your photo;
- the text of your posts (without their photos) and your Klashs;
- your event chat messages, until they are erased for everyone, 24 hours after the event is resolved (those of a cancelled event remain);
- your challenges and their matches: those of your opponents remain valid and visible on their side, without your username;
- your wallet transactions, including the entry that records the forfeited balance;
- referrals and the audit log;
- reports you sent or that concern you.
This data serves accounting traceability, the integrity of your opponents' challenges, and moderation. Its retention periods are those of Article 6 of the Privacy Policy.
Timing and new account
There is no grace period: once deleted, the account cannot be recovered, neither by you nor by support.
Your email address and your Google account are released: you can create a new account with them, but it will start from scratch.
