Who can follow me and how to limit it

TL;DR

By default, anyone can follow you. You can switch to "Private profile" to require manual approval for each new follower. You can also block a specific user so they can no longer follow you or see your profile. Existing followers remain (unless blocked).

The default public mode

By default, your profile is public. That means:

  • Any Ktkarena user can visit your public profile.
  • Any user can follow you without asking your permission.
  • Your public activity (resolved bets, predictions, badges) is visible in your followers' feeds.

Why it's the default mode: most users have no problem with it. Since your private information (amounts, ongoing bets, legal identity) is never displayed, the public mode doesn't put you at risk. It's the community spirit of the platform.

The "Private profile" mode with approval

If you prefer to control who follows you, enable the Private profile:

  1. Go to Profile → Privacy → Private profile.
  2. Enable the option.

From that moment:

  • New followers must request your approval. When someone taps "Follow" on your profile, it becomes "Request sent". You get a notification: "[Handle] wants to follow you. Accept / Decline."
  • Your public profile no longer shows your stats to non-followers (just your handle and your photo).
  • Your public activity is only visible to your approved followers.

Who it's useful for:

  • You bet big and don't want to attract attention.
  • You're a well-known figure and want to avoid harassment.
  • You simply prefer a more intimate experience.

You can disable the Private profile at any time to become public again. Your approved followers remain.

Blocking a specific user

If a specific user bothers you (harassment, toxic behavior), you can block them without switching to the Private profile:

  1. Go to their profile.
  2. Tap the menu at the top right.
  3. Choose "Block".
  4. Confirm.

Immediate effects of blocking:

  • They can no longer follow you (if they were following you, they're automatically unsubscribed).
  • They can no longer see your profile (they see "This user has blocked you").
  • They can no longer send you a private message.
  • They can no longer invite you to a private league.
  • You can no longer be matched in the arena (the system avoids your encounters in the cascade).

The blocked user is not notified of the block. They simply find out they no longer have access to your profile.

You can unblock at any time from Settings → Blocked.

Special cases: existing followers

If you switch to the Private profile while you already have 50 followers:

  • Your 50 existing followers remain. They're not re-submitted for approval.
  • Only new followers will have to request your approval.

If you want to purge your existing followers:

  1. Go to Profile → My followers.
  2. Tap a follower then "Remove this follower".
  3. They're unsubscribed. You can do this for as many followers as you want.

Combining Private profile + selective removal: you can do your "sorting" and keep only the followers you approve, then keep the Private profile for new ones.
