Transferring my prediction stats to my Arena profile

Why we don't mix the two modes

It's a question that comes up often: "I have 200 correct predictions in Prediction Mode - do they count toward my Arena stats?"

Answer: no. The two are deliberately separate. Here's why:

1. They're different skills.
Being good at prediction (without money) means analyzing well and having the right intuitions. Being good in the Arena also requires bankroll management, emotional control, matching timing, reading the odds. They're not the same skills. If we mixed them, we'd create a false equivalence.

2. It would encourage "fake-it-till-you-make-it".
If prediction stats transferred to the Arena, a user could inflate their Arena profile with empty promises. "I'm at 70% in prediction!" but in the Arena, they've only bet 5 times. That's misleading for potential opponents.

3. It would stop users from going back to Prediction Mode.
If you mix the two, you hesitate to experiment in prediction (for fear of "polluting" your Arena profile). By keeping them separate, you can explore freely in one without affecting the other.

What stays displayed across the two modes

Even though the stats are separate, your single profile shows both:

"Arena Stats" section:

• Resolved bets, Arena success rate, net winnings.

"Prediction Stats" section:

• Resolved predictions, prediction success rate, Oracle Score, badges and trophies.

For someone visiting your profile, this is very informative:

• If your prediction stats are excellent (65% over 500 predictions) but your Arena stats are mediocre (45% over 50 bets), it's a signal that you're struggling with emotional or bankroll management. Not a skill problem.
• If your prediction and Arena stats are both excellent, it's a signal that you're a true all-around pro.

How to optimize your "dual" profile

Strategy 1 - Consistent theme specialization.
If you're good at sports predictions, place your Arena bets on sports too. Your entire profile reflects your sports expertise. Visible and credible.

Strategy 2 - Keep predicting in the other themes.
For the themes where you're average, keep predicting rather than betting. Your extended prediction stats show that you're curious and active, without penalizing your Arena stats.

Strategy 3 - Keep your Oracle Score high in parallel.
Even if you bet a lot in the Arena, keep up some prediction activity to maintain your Oracle Score and your badges. Many users enjoy the mix.

Strategy 4 - Configure your profile showcase.
You can choose what to highlight on your profile (Profile → Customize my showcase):

• Arena stats only.
• Prediction stats only.
• Both side by side.
• Three badges/trophies of your choice.

If you want to look like a "serious bettor", highlight your Arena stats. If you want to show your overall expertise, keep both visible.

Special case: should you display your prediction stats when you're in the Arena?

Advantages of displaying your prediction stats:

• You show your long-term commitment to the platform.
• Your badges and trophies add prestige to your profile.
• You slightly intimidate your Arena opponents (they can see how serious you are).
• If your Oracle Score is high, it's a skill signal they can respect.

Drawbacks:

• If your prediction stats are weak, they contrast badly with your Arena stats.
• Some opponents might try to exploit that info.

To hide them: Profile → Privacy → Prediction stats → "Hide publicly".
