The strict binary case (wins/wins)
When the event explicitly offers the outcomes "Real Madrid wins" and "Barcelona wins", with no draw outcome, a draw is covered by no offered outcome.
If the match ends in a draw, neither side wins. The challenge is therefore canceled and 100% refunded to all players.
Example: Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona. You had taken a side on Real Madrid, your opponent on Barcelona. Draw. You each get your stake back in full.
This is the simplest situation and the most common on Ktkarena. Many sports and electoral events are labeled this way.
The case where the draw is an outcome (three outcomes)
An event can also offer the draw as an outcome in its own right: "Real Madrid wins", "Draw" and "Barcelona wins". It is then a three-outcome event.
In that case, a draw cancels nothing: the "Draw" outcome prevails, and the event is resolved normally on that outcome.
Example: Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona. If you had taken a side on "Draw": you won. If you had taken a side on "Real Madrid wins" or on "Barcelona wins": you lost. The only exception, specific to the pool on events with three outcomes or more: if nobody had staked on "Draw" in the pool, pool participations are refunded. Details.
The "wins/does not win" case (asymmetric)
Some events have an asymmetric label: "Real Madrid wins / Real Madrid does not win" (or equivalent).
In that case, a draw counts as "Real Madrid does not win" - the "Real Madrid does not win" outcome prevails. No cancellation, no refund.
Example: Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona. If you had taken a side on "Real Madrid wins": you lost (Real Madrid did not win). If you had taken a side on "Real Madrid does not win": you won.
Why this label exists: it makes it possible to create a challenge where one side is the "favorite" (Real Madrid to win) and the other is the "underdog" (anything except a win). Often used for challenges on "overwhelming favorites" where players want to take the risk of a loss or a draw.
The admin's rule in case of ambiguity
If the label is ambiguous (rare but possible), our admin decides according to the following principles:
- The exact label prevails. If the wording says "Real Madrid wins" with no further detail, and the match is a draw, the challenge is canceled. The benefit of the doubt goes to the strict label.
- Fairness: in case of total doubt, the admin rules in favor of a full refund (fair to everyone).
How to avoid the trap: read the exact label
Before starting a challenge, read the event's exact label carefully. On the challenge screen, you see:
- The event's name (short).
- The outcomes offered (with precise wording).
- A detailed explanation if you tap the (i) icon next to the label.
If the label isn't clear, contact support before starting a challenge. It's your right. Better to clarify upfront than face a surprise afterwards.
Simple rule: for major European sports (soccer, basketball), the label is almost always strict binary. For politics or niche events, check carefully.
