The 4-step reset procedure
- On the login screen, below the "Number" and "Password" fields, tap "Forgot password?".
- Enter your phone number with the country code. If you have multiple accounts (rare and not allowed), the system will ask you which one.
- Receive and enter the SMS code. We send a 6-digit code to the number linked to your account. Arrival time: 30 seconds on average. If you don't receive anything, check your network coverage and tap "Resend code" after 60 seconds.
- Set a new password. Same rules as at sign-up: at least 8 characters, at least one digit, at least one uppercase letter. How to choose a strong password.
Done. You're automatically logged back in. All your ongoing bets, your balance, and your history stay exactly as before.
What happens if you enabled 2FA
If you enabled two-factor authentication (2FA), the procedure has one extra step after the SMS code:
- Enter the 2FA code from your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.) or via the push notification from your physical key.
If you no longer have access to your 2FA device (lost phone, uninstalled app), it's more complex. See I lost my phone with my 2FA.
During the reset: your bets are safe
Once your new password is set, all your ongoing bets carry on as normal:
- Matched bets: they stay matched. Resolution happens as planned.
- Cascade bets: the search for an opponent continues.
- Balance: untouched, down to the last KTK.
- History: fully preserved.
A password reset is an operation purely related to access. It affects nothing else. You could do it 10 times in a week with zero consequences for your activity.
Extra security. As a precaution, all your connected devices (other phones, computers) are automatically logged out. You'll need to log back in on those devices with the new password. It's for your safety - if your old password was compromised, this cuts off access for everyone but you.
What can block the procedure
1. You no longer have access to the linked phone number.
This is the trickiest situation. You changed numbers but forgot to update your account first. Solution: contact support at support@ktkarena.com with:
- Your user handle.
- Your old phone number.
- Your new number.
- A photo of your ID document (to confirm it's really you).
Support performs a thorough manual verification (24-48h) and unblocks your access. How to change your number ahead of time.
2. You receive the SMS but the code is rejected.
Make sure you're entering the most recent code. If you tapped "Resend code" several times, only the last one is valid. If the problem persists, wait 15 minutes (anti-brute-force security) and try again.
3. Too many failed attempts.
After 5 failed attempts in 30 minutes, your account is temporarily blocked for 1 hour. It's an anti-fraud protection. Wait, then try again. If you get blocked 3 times in a row (so more than 15 failed attempts), the block becomes 24h.
