Change my password

TL;DR

Go to Profile → Security → Change my password. Enter your current password, then the new one (twice to confirm). It takes effect immediately. We recommend changing your password at least every 6 months, and immediately if you suspect someone may have seen it.

The 3-step change procedure

  1. Open the app and go to Profile (icon at the bottom right).
  2. Tap "Security" then "Change my password".
  3. Fill in the form:
    • Current password.
    • New password (at least 8 characters, 1 digit, 1 uppercase letter).
    • Confirmation of the new password.

Tap "Confirm". You immediately receive a confirmation notification: "Your password has been changed."

That's it. No delay, no waiting.

When to change your password

You must change your password:

  • If you suspect someone may have seen it (a friend who looked over your shoulder, a public computer where you logged in…).
  • If you received a suspicious login alert (our system notifies you if a login comes from an unusual device or city).
  • If you used the same password on another site that got hacked. With data leaks happening all the time, it's good practice.
  • If you no longer trust your current password for any reason.

You should change your password regularly:

  • At least every 6 months for basic security.
  • Every 3 months if you bet large amounts (Premium, Elite, Institutional).

It's not mandatory here (we don't force rotation like some banks do), but it's good practice.

What happens on your other devices

When you change your password, all your other devices are automatically logged out. It's an important security measure.

For example:

  • If you're logged in on your phone and your tablet, and you change your password from the phone, the tablet will be logged out the next time the app is opened.
  • You'll need to log back in on the tablet with your new password.

Why this security measure. If your old password had been compromised and someone was logged into your account on another device, this change cuts them off immediately.

Best practices

1. A different password for every account. Don't use the same password on Ktkarena and on other sites. If another site gets hacked, your Ktkarena account stays safe.

2. Use a password manager. Bitwarden (free), 1Password, or even the manager built into your browser. It lets you have an ultra-strong password without having to memorize it.

3. Enable 2FA. Even with the best password, 2FA adds an essential layer. Enable 2FA.

4. Never share your password. Not even with a Ktkarena support member (who will never ask you for it). If someone asks for your password, it's a phishing attempt. Spotting phishing attempts.

Frequently asked questions

No, never. Your ongoing bets, your balance, and your history are 100% preserved. Only the access changes.
