Customize sounds and badges

TL;DR

You can customize the sound and vibration of each notification type (resolutions, disputes, chat...) directly in the Ktkarena settings. On iPhone, the choice is limited to system sounds. On Android, you can upload your own sounds. You can also manage the badge (the little red number on the icon) or disable it.

Customize sounds by type

You can assign a different sound to each notification type. Handy for recognizing by sound what's coming in without looking at your phone.

How to:

  1. Go to Profile → Notifications → Sounds.
  2. For each notification type, tap the current sound.
  3. Choose from the list:
    • Default Ktkarena sounds: 5 app-specific sounds (bell, beep, chime, ding, fanfare).
    • System sounds: the full list of your phone's sounds.
    • None: silence for that type.

Recommendation:

  • Bet resolutions: a short, recognizable sound (for example, "ding").
  • Disputes: a more distinctive sound to signal urgency (for example, "fanfare" or "alert").
  • Chat: a discreet sound or silence (otherwise it spams).
  • News: silence or a discreet sound.

Custom sounds on Android. You can upload your own sound (an MP3, for example). Go to Sounds → "Add a custom sound" and pick an audio file from your phone. Limit: 5 seconds max, MP3 or OGG format. iOS doesn't allow custom sound uploads in third-party apps, due to an Apple constraint.

Manage vibrations

Vibrations are managed independently of sounds.

How to:

  1. Profile → Notifications → Vibrations.
  2. For each notification type, choose:
    • Short vibration (default).
    • Long vibration (1 second).
    • Double vibration (two pulses).
    • No vibration.

Battery-saving tip: vibrations consume more than sounds. If you want to save power, disable vibrations everywhere except for disputes (which need to alert you no matter what).

"Silent but vibrating" mode: you can choose "No sound" + "Short vibration" for each type. Discreet in public, but you feel when something comes in.

The badge on the app icon

The badge is the little red number at the top right of the Ktkarena icon on your home screen. It shows how many unread notifications you have.

Configure the badge:

  1. Profile → Notifications → Badge.
  2. You can choose what the badge counts:
    • Everything: all unread notifications (default).
    • Disputes only: only pending disputes.
    • Custom: you pick the types that count toward the badge.
    • Disabled: no badge at all.

Use cases:

  • You want to see at a glance whether there are urgent disputes → "Disputes only".
  • The badge stresses you out → "Disabled".

On iOS: the badge requires the "Badges" permission in Settings → Ktkarena → Notifications.

On Android: not all phones support badges (Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi do; some others don't). If your phone doesn't support it, the Ktkarena setting does nothing.

Advanced per-device customization

On Android:

  • You can customize at the Android system level (Android Settings → Apps → Ktkarena → Notifications): LED, screen wake on notification, banner position.
  • You can create custom notification channels (Android 8+) to group types by priority.

On iPhone:

  • You can customize in iOS Settings → Notifications → Ktkarena: presentation style (banner, alert), automatic grouping.
  • Announce Notifications: you can enable Siri reading your notifications out loud (Settings → Siri → Announce Notifications).

Apple Watch: if paired, Ktkarena notifications also show on the Watch. You can customize them in the Watch app on your iPhone.
