TL;DR

Every week, we run free themed mini-competitions. You can take part freely, at no cost, with no sign-up. The best receive weekly badges and points bonuses. The ideal competition to stay active without a long-term commitment, and to test your current form.

How weekly competitions work

Every week, from Monday 12:00 AM to Sunday 11:59 PM (CEMAC time), we launch a new themed competition.

The principle is simple:

  • For 7 days, we track who predicts best on a given theme.
  • At the end of the week, the best are rewarded.
  • A new competition starts the following Monday with another theme.

Who it's good for:

  • You want short, engaging challenges.
  • You don't feel like committing to a 3-month seasonal tournament.
  • You want to test your form on varied themes.
  • You want to collect weekly badges easily.

The weekly themes

Themes change every week and are announced on Monday morning by push notification.

A few examples of typical themes:

  • "Africa Cup this week": predict the AFCON matches taking place during the week.
  • "Ongoing elections": predict the results of national elections being held.
  • "Crypto on the move": predict significant swings in the major cryptos.
  • "Apple tech announcement": predict the details of the next Apple event.
  • "French Ligue 1": predict all the weekend's Ligue 1 matches.

Themes can be:

  • Tied to an event of the week (a big match, an announcement).
  • Tied to a general theme (all of crypto, all of politics).
  • Surprises (every month, we do a "surprise theme" week).

How to take part

Step 1 - Automatic entry.
You have nothing to do to enter. As soon as you predict an event matching the week's theme, you're automatically entered into the weekly competition.

Step 2 - View the dedicated leaderboard.
During the week, go to Competitions → This week. You see the leaderboard specific to the ongoing competition, with your rank.

Step 3 - Predict as many theme-related events as possible.
The more theme events you predict (and correctly), the more points you score. It's cumulative over the week.

Step 4 - See the result the following Monday.
On Monday morning, the week's final leaderboard is locked. Rewards are distributed automatically.

The rewards

The best in each weekly competition receive:

Top 1:

  • "Champion of the week [theme]" badge with the date.
  • Bonus of 100 Oracle points.
  • Mention in the following week's newsletter.

Top 3:

  • "Weekly podium [theme]" badge.
  • Bonus of 50 Oracle points.

Top 10:

  • "Weekly Top 10" badge.
  • Bonus of 25 Oracle points.

Top 100:

  • Mention in the public leaderboard.
  • Bonus of 10 Oracle points.

All participants:

  • Participation bonus of 5 Oracle points.
  • If you take part in 4 weekly competitions in the month, "Regular" badge.

Note. Oracle points bonuses are added to your overall Oracle Score, which pushes you up the overall leaderboard. It's a good lever for climbing fast.
