TL;DR

Go to Profile → Photo. Choose an image from your gallery or take a photo. Square crop (the app offers a cropping tool). Max 5 MB. Publicly visible to other bettors. You can use anything appropriate (you, a drawing, a logo) - it doesn't have to be your real face. No offensive content, or we remove it.

How to add or change your photo

  1. Go to Profile (bottom-right icon) then tap your current photo (a default avatar if you haven't set one).
  2. Choose between:
    • Take a photo: opens your phone's camera.
    • Choose from gallery: select an existing image.
    • Remove photo: back to the default avatar.
  3. The app offers a square crop (all profile pictures are square). Adjust with your fingers (zoom + move).
  4. Confirm. The photo is immediately uploaded and visible on your profile.

Technical specifications:

  • Format: JPG, PNG, or WebP.
  • Max size: 5 MB.
  • Minimum resolution: 200x200 pixels.
  • Recommended resolution: 1000x1000 pixels (for a sharp result).
  • Compression: we automatically re-optimize the image so it loads quickly everywhere in the app.

What's allowed and what's not

Allowed:

  • Your real photo (selfie, portrait photo).
  • A drawn avatar, a cartoon.
  • The logo of your favorite sports team (as long as it's not a registered commercial trademark).
  • A photo of a landscape, animal, or object (if it represents you symbolically).
  • A family photo (but mind the privacy of the other people).

Not allowed:

  • Sexual or suggestive content.
  • Violence, gore, shocking content.
  • Hate symbols (racism, homophobia, etc.).
  • Flags or symbols of banned organizations.
  • Logos of registered trademarks (Apple, Nike, etc. - image rights).
  • A photo of a well-known personality (privacy, image rights).
  • A photo of a minor who isn't you (the minor's privacy).
  • An image used to impersonate another user or a personality.

Moderation. If you set a photo that isn't allowed, our system (algorithm + human moderation) detects it and removes it. You receive a notification explaining why. Repeat cases → warning, then sanction.

Visibility of your photo

Your profile picture is public. It's visible:

  • On your public profile (accessible via your handle).
  • In the arena chat when you write a message.
  • On the leaderboards and private leagues where you appear.
  • Next to your publicly visible resolved bets (if you allow it).

If you'd rather not have a photo: keep the default avatar. That's totally OK. Many bettors keep the default avatar (a green KTK circle with their initial).

If you want to protect your privacy: use a drawing, an object, or a cartoon rather than your real photo. It's safer, especially if you bet large amounts (to avoid being identifiable).

Tips for a good photo

1. Crop in tight on the face (or the main subject). Since the photo is small when displayed (often 40x40 pixels in the chat), a close-up face is more recognizable than a landscape photo.

2. Good lighting. Not backlit, not in the dark.

3. A smile or a positive expression. You stand out better than with a very serious photo.

4. A simple background rather than a busy one. A plain background (white wall, sky) is more readable than a busy one (crowd, complicated scenery).

5. Authentic. A photo of you is more memorable and engaging than a generic meme.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

No, just the photo. Your profile stays active with the default avatar (initial).

No, only still images. Animated GIFs would make the interface too visually busy.

No, never. Our moderation reviews before taking any action. If your photo is OK, it stays. An abusive report doesn't affect your account.
