What's allowed and what's not
Allowed:
- Your real photo (selfie, portrait photo).
- A drawn avatar, a cartoon.
- The logo of your favorite sports team (as long as it's not a registered commercial trademark).
- A photo of a landscape, animal, or object (if it represents you symbolically).
- A family photo (but mind the privacy of the other people).
Not allowed:
- Sexual or suggestive content.
- Violence, gore, shocking content.
- Hate symbols (racism, homophobia, etc.).
- Flags or symbols of banned organizations.
- Logos of registered trademarks (Apple, Nike, etc. - image rights).
- A photo of a well-known personality (privacy, image rights).
- A photo of a minor who isn't you (the minor's privacy).
- An image used to impersonate another user or a personality.
Moderation. If you set a photo that isn't allowed, our system (algorithm + human moderation) detects it and removes it. You receive a notification explaining why. Repeat cases → warning, then sanction.
Visibility of your photo
Your profile picture is public. It's visible:
- On your public profile (accessible via your handle).
- In the arena chat when you write a message.
- On the leaderboards and private leagues where you appear.
- Next to your publicly visible resolved bets (if you allow it).
If you'd rather not have a photo: keep the default avatar. That's totally OK. Many bettors keep the default avatar (a green KTK circle with their initial).
If you want to protect your privacy: use a drawing, an object, or a cartoon rather than your real photo. It's safer, especially if you bet large amounts (to avoid being identifiable).
Tips for a good photo
1. Crop in tight on the face (or the main subject). Since the photo is small when displayed (often 40x40 pixels in the chat), a close-up face is more recognizable than a landscape photo.
2. Good lighting. Not backlit, not in the dark.
3. A smile or a positive expression. You stand out better than with a very serious photo.
4. A simple background rather than a busy one. A plain background (white wall, sky) is more readable than a busy one (crowd, complicated scenery).
5. Authentic. A photo of you is more memorable and engaging than a generic meme.
