Why you can request your data
Ktkarena's Privacy Policy (Article 8) gives you, among others, a right of access and a right to data portability: you can get a copy of the data Ktkarena holds about you. It's free.
Typical cases where it's useful:
- Legitimate curiosity: you want to know exactly what we store.
- Personal records: to keep an archive of your activity.
- Before closing your account: to leave with your history.
- Disagreement: to have your own copy of your history.
What's in the export file
The export is a single JSON file. It contains:
- Your profile: e-mail, username, display name, bio, pictures, account creation date, time zone, date and version of the Terms you accepted.
- Your challenges: event, chosen outcome, stake, status, date.
- Your transactions: type, amount, balance after the operation, label, date, including the commissions taken from the pot.
- Your social life: friends, challenges between friends, leagues, referrals.
- Your progress: achievements, XP, missions, daily rewards, predictions.
- Your notifications.
- Your messages and your reactions in your challenges' chat.
- Your settings: responsible gaming limits, matching preferences, whether two-factor authentication is on.
Some lists are capped. Notifications and XP history keep the most recent ones (500 notifications, 200 XP gains). Challenges between friends (100), predictions (200), messages (500) and reactions (200) stop at their cap, with no guarantee as to which rows are kept. All your challenges and transactions are in it.
What the export doesn't contain, among other things: your private messages, your messages in event chats and those in league chats, your posts and your comments, your klashes, your shop purchases. To exercise your right of access to that data too, write to privacy@ktkarena.com.
How to make the request
- In the app, go to Settings and tap “Download my data”.
- The app prepares the file (“Preparing the file…”), then opens your phone's share menu: save it, or send it wherever you like.
- If the export doesn't go through, try again a little later.
By e-mail: you can also write to privacy@ktkarena.com, with proof of your identity. The Privacy Policy (Article 8.8) provides for a response within 30 days, extendable by 60 days if the request is particularly complex.
What to do with your exported data
Storage: the file contains personal information (e-mail, transactions). Keep it somewhere safe.
Reading: a JSON file opens in any text editor or JSON viewer.
Reuse: JSON is an open format that spreadsheets and other tools can import.
