The moment of truth
The event you bet on has just ended. Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1. What exactly happens between that final whistle and the moment your KTK balance goes up?
Answer: less than 5 seconds, in 99% of cases. Here's how.
The 3 resolution modes
Ktkarena uses 3 different methods to resolve events, depending on their nature.
Mode 1 - AUTO (automatic resolution)
For events where a reliable external source can confirm the result with no possible ambiguity: sports matches, cryptocurrency prices, official election results.
How it works:
- Our system continuously monitors reliable external sources (the ESPN API for soccer, CoinGecko for crypto, etc.).
- When an event ends, several sources confirm the result.
- If the confidence score is ≥ 95%, the resolution is automatic.
- The escrow is released within seconds.
Percentage of events handled in AUTO: around 70%.
Delay between the end of the event and the winner being credited: 5 to 30 seconds.
Mode 2 - SEMI-AUTO (suggestion + admin validation)
For events where the external source is probable but not certain, or for sensitive events where we prefer a double check.
How it works:
- Our system suggests a resolution based on the sources.
- An administrator verifies and validates manually.
- If the admin confirms, the escrow is released.
- If the admin has any doubt, they escalate to MANUAL mode.
Percentage of events handled in SEMI-AUTO: around 25%.
Delay between the end of the event and the winner being credited: 2 to 30 minutes.
Good to know. This is the default mode for major political, economic and crypto events. We'd rather take 5 extra minutes to verify than send out a wrong resolution.
Mode 3 - MANUAL (resolution by an administrator)
For events that can't be automated: qualitative predictions, complex geopolitical events, local events with no reliable external source.
How it works:
- No usable external sources.
- An administrator resolves the event based on evidence attached when the event was created.
- The resolution and the evidence are archived.
- The escrow is released after validation.
Percentage of events handled in MANUAL: around 5%.
Delay between the end of the event and the winner being credited: 1 to 24 hours.
How do I know which mode applies to my bet?
Before you place your bet, the confirmation screen shows the planned resolution mode:
- 🤖 Automatic resolution (AUTO).
- 🤖+👤 Semi-automatic resolution (SEMI-AUTO).
- 👤 Manual resolution (MANUAL).
You know in advance the maximum time you'll wait between the end of the event and your potential winnings being credited.
Full traceability
Whichever mode is used, every resolution is traced in our immutable audit log:
- The mode used (AUTO / SEMI-AUTO / MANUAL).
- The sources consulted and their confidence score.
- The administrator who validated (if SEMI-AUTO or MANUAL).
- The precise timestamp of the resolution.
- The link to the evidence (screenshot, official article, official video, etc.).
If you want to check how your bet was resolved, go to History → [Relevant bet] → Resolution details. It's all there.
Important. If you disagree with the resolution, you have 48 hours from the end of the event to dispute it. Your stake is frozen again in escrow while the dispute is reviewed.
What happens after the resolution?
Once the escrow is released:
- The winner receives the total stake minus the commission.
- The commission is collected by Ktkarena (based on the tier).
- The loser sees the final loss recorded in their history.
- A push notification is sent to both players.
- The match chat closes automatically (but remains available as read-only).
All of this within less than 5 seconds in 99% of cases, after the final resolution decision.
