Why an internal currency?
Ktkarena is used by players in 6 CEMAC countries + several West African and European countries. If bets were placed directly in FCFA, EUR, or USD, we would run into problems:
- Multiple conversions on every bet (FCFA vs EUR, FCFA vs USD, etc.).
- Hard to visualize when comparing between users from different countries.
- Confusion about real amounts between users.
KTK solves all of that. It's one unit shared by all users, no matter their country.
How does KTK work?
1 KTK = 100 KTK-cents. Like a CFA Franc divided into centimes, or a Euro divided into cents.
At the current rate:
- 1 KTK ≈ 1.5 FCFA
- 1 KTK ≈ 0.0023 EUR
- 1 KTK ≈ 0.0025 USD
- 1 KTK ≈ 0.0025 USDC
So 1,000 KTK ≈ 1,500 FCFA ≈ 2.30 EUR ≈ 2.50 USD.
Automatic conversions
When you deposit, your amount in local currency (FCFA, EUR, USD, USDC) is immediately converted into KTK at the displayed rate.
When you withdraw, the process is reversed: your KTK are converted back into your original payment currency.
Good to know. The rate is locked at the moment of the transaction. No bad surprises. If we tell you your withdrawal is worth 15,000 FCFA, that's exactly what you'll receive on your Mobile Money.
KTK is NOT a cryptocurrency
This is an essential point: KTK is neither a crypto nor legal tender.
- You can't send KTK to another user outside the betting system.
- You can't store KTK in an external wallet (Metamask, Phantom, etc.).
- You can't “mine” KTK.
- KTK is not listed on Coinbase, Binance, or other exchanges.
It's just an internal counter that makes betting easier for you.
Why does the KTK rate vary?
The KTK ↔ FCFA/EUR/USD rate varies based on:
- The CFA Franc exchange rate against the Euro and the Dollar (the FCFA is pegged to the Euro but floats against the Dollar).
- Marginal internal variations tied to the liquidity of our system.
In practice, these variations are marginal (less than 1% over 30 days under normal conditions).
