What works offline
When you have no connection, you can still:
1. Browse your history.
Your past bets and resolved predictions are cached locally. You can browse them, see the details, and read archived chats.
2. View your balance (frozen at the last sync).
The balance shown is the one from your last connection. Obviously not up to date in real time, but you can check it.
3. Read the Help Center.
Help articles are cached. You can reread them without a connection.
4. View your badges, trophies, leaderboard.
Frozen at the last sync, but viewable.
5. Prepare bets or predictions.
You can fill out the bet form (choose an event, your side, your amount). The app keeps it as a "draft" until you reconnect.
6. Read already-loaded chats.
If you were in a chat before losing the connection, you can scroll through the messages already received.
What does NOT work offline
Features that require real-time interaction with our servers don't work:
- Confirming a bet or a prediction: impossible. The app keeps your draft, but the bet isn't placed until you're reconnected.
- Matching an opponent: impossible (requires the server-side cascade).
- Depositing or withdrawing money: impossible (banking transaction).
- Viewing ongoing events live: you see what was loaded at the moment you disconnected, but with no updates.
- Sending a message in the chat: impossible.
- Changing your account settings: possible locally, but not saved to the server until you reconnect.
- Receiving push notifications: impossible (push = server connection).
- Viewing the updated Devin leaderboard: you see the last synced version.
Why. It's conscious and deliberate: Ktkarena isn't designed to run fully autonomously offline. Our P2P architecture (betting between people) intrinsically requires a connection.
Preparing actions offline
You can prepare certain actions offline, and they'll be executed when you reconnect.
Preparing a bet:
- Open the app (even without a connection).
- Go to the event you want to bet on (if it was loaded before you disconnected).
- Fill out the form: side, amount, tier.
- Tap "Confirm". The app displays: "No connection. Bet saved as a draft. It will be sent when you reconnect."
- The bet appears in Profile → My drafts.
When you reconnect, the app automatically sends the draft. You receive a notification: "Your draft bet was placed successfully." (or an error message if the deadline has passed, for example).
Preparing a prediction: same principle as for a bet.
Preparing a message: you can type a message in the chat. It stays pending (clock icon). It's sent automatically when you reconnect.
Limit: you can have a maximum of 10 pending drafts at once. Beyond that, the app asks you to connect to send some before creating more.
Sync when you reconnect
As soon as you get a connection back, Ktkarena automatically syncs:
- Sending pending drafts (bets, predictions, messages).
- Downloading new data (resolutions, winnings, new events).
- Updating the balance with the winnings/losses that occurred while you were offline.
- Retrieving the notifications you missed (summarized in a single notification: "You missed 3 resolutions while you were offline. See the details.").
Typical duration: 5-15 seconds depending on the sync volume.
In case of conflicts (rare):
If something happened while you were offline that conflicts with your draft (for example, the bet deadline has passed), the app shows you an explanatory message and cancels the draft. You're never the "victim" of a bet confirmed without your knowledge.
